Wall Street stocks opened higher on Friday, led by gains in Apple following its upbeat results and on an in-line Federal Reserve-preferred inflation.
At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 172.2 points, or 0.38%, to 45054.36. The S&P 500 rose 25.6 points, or 0.42%, to 6096.79, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 150.6 points, or 0.77%, to 19832.333.
Apple shares rose 2.2% after reporting stronger quarterly profit.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury edged down to 4.51% from 4.52% late on Thursday.
